India : Man dies of dengue, toll climbs to 5

An article from The Asian Age :

" One more person died of dengue taking the toll to five this season. The total number of dengue cases in the city reached 1,716 as 64 fresh cases were reported on Saturday.

“Raj Kumar, 25, died of dengue on Saturday. Total fresh cases reported were 64,” said municipal health officer, Dr N.K. Yadav.

Last week, 460 dengue cases were reported in the city alone.

The worst affected South Delhi area has recorded 283 cases. The civic bodies are blaming incessant rains and stagnation of water at Games construction sites for the rapid increase in dengue cases this season.

The dengue outbreak has also raised concern among several countries which are sending teams to participate in the Commonwealth Games to be held here next month."
