Bangladesh detects 557 A/H1N1 flu cases in Jan.-Aug. period

" DHAKA, Sept. 5 : Bangladesh Sunday announced that in the first eight months of this year, the country has detected 557 cases of A/H1N1 flu while two women died of the disease.

The latest statistics of the country's Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research under the Health Ministry released here on Sunday showed 557 cases of A/H1N1 flu were confirmed during January-August period of this year, raising the overall figure to 1,369.

Of total flu cases in the first eight months of this year, the official data showed, 125 cases were detected in August, 129 cases in July, 62 cases in June, 56 cases in May, 98 cases in April, 72 cases in March, 12 cases in February and 3 case in January."
