India : Swine flu claims 11 lives in state

" The Swine flu virus, which has been on a renascent course since the onset of monsoon, tightened its grip over Chhattisgarh with 11 deaths being reported from various parts of the state in three months. State Epidemic Control Unit in-charge, Dr M Murti on Saturday told PTI that the viral disease has claimed six lives in Janjgir, two in Bilaspur, two in Durg and one in Korba district this year since the beginning of monsoon.

He said a total of 21 patients across the state had tested positive for the virus out of a total of 97 persons, whose samples were sent for testing to laboratories in Delhi.

Eleven of those who tested positive died of the disease, while 10 others are being treated, Murti said."
