Nepal : Saptari jail birds positive for swine flu

Via Himalayan Times :

" SAPTARI: Eight inmates of the Rajbiraj prison have tested positive for the swine flu virus.

The sample health check of 11 prisoners out of 52 sick confirmed eight of them have caught the H1N1 virus.

Earlier, health authorities from the Central Laboratory and Eastern Health Directorate had rushed to the prison after the jailbirds complained of fever, chest congestion, coughing and headache and suspected swine flu.

The names of the jailbirds suffering from swine flu, however, have not been made public. Jailor Bhagat Yadav said they have not yet received authorized report, though the news about swine flu detection has spread.

As many as 144 inmates (142 men and 2 women) are languishing in the prison, which is said to be far beyond its capacity."
