Central Mexico Stands Out with Cases of Influenza A H1N1

" Central Mexico has the largest number of positive cases of influenza A H1N1 infections, with 1,174 of the 2,544 cases reported in the country.

The virus is dominant in the Federal District, Hidalgo, Puebla, Querétaro and Mexico State, nearly 46 percent of all diagnosed cases, according to figures updated by the Ministry of Health.

According to the Ministry of Health, until February 2, 2,815 patients were confirmed with the different types of influenza currently circulating in the country, of whom 58 died (54 by the A H1N1 type).

The health minister, Solomon Chertorivski, dismissed the idea that there was cause for alarm over the incidence of the disease in Mexico, and said the increase in patients is within the expected parameters."
