" KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 4 : The dengue fever cases rose by 30 to 1,101 cases, including one death, between July 25 and 31 from the previous week.Director of Health Tan Sri Dr Mohd Ismail Merican said Kelantan recorded the highest increase with six cases followed by Selangor (34), Sabah (12), Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya (seven), Kedah (five), and Perlis (two).
Four Chikungunya cases were reported in the same period -- two in Sarawak and one each in Selangor and Sabah, he said in a statement.
On influenza A(H1N1), he said the cases rose to 48 to 15,469 cases between July 25 and 31 compared to 41 the previous week.
Dr Mohd Ismail said the death figure remained at 92.
He said five influenza-like illness (ILI) clusters were reported in Kubang Pasu Integrated Boarding School in Bukit Kayu Hitam, Sultan Abdul Halim Polytechnic (Jitra), Section 17 Special Vocational School (Shah Alam), Sekolah Kebangsaan Pos Legap (Kuala Kangsar), and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sultan Iskandar Shah's girls hostel (Parit, Perak).
The number of new ILI patients admitted to hospitals decreased by 15.4 per cent to 454 cases from the previous week, he said, adding that 283 patients were still treated in 60 hospitals, including nine private hospitals.He said of them, only 28 patients or 9.9 per cent were confirmed H1N1 cases.Seven H1N1 patients are warded in the Intensive Care Unit, of which five with risk factors, he added."
