India : Swine Flu led death toll on rise again, claimed 42 lives so far

Via IC Tech News, excerpt :

" This time again the H1N1 bacteria has battered lives, the toll is 42 and counting with recent three from Sir Ganga Ram, Lok Nayak and Bhim Rao Ambedkar Hospitals, Delhi. Early this year the virus had spread like wild fire and so did the fear and panic among citizens. City hospitals were earmarked to combat the infection on a war-footing and conscientious people co-operated by taking vaccination shots and observing all precautions reported in the media.

People with mouths and nose shielded with green swatches tied around the ears, empty theatre halls, market and public places had turned Delhi into a ghost town. Slowly the lethal bacteria receded only to return. Once again ‘Swine Flu’ is casting its shadow over the capital and other places such as, MP and Haryana as well. News of numbers testing positive and succumbing to the virus trickle unabated.

"A total of three people died in different city hospitals due to the virus today. One case was from Sir Ganga Ram hospital. Two of them were from Delhi, while one patient had come from Haryana," Debashish Bhattacharya, Delhi government's nodal officer for H1N1 cases."
