Papua New Guinea : Cholera outbreak closes Torres Strait

" Travel between Papua New Guinea and the Torres Strait has been restricted because of an outbreak of cholera on the island of Daru
.
Sixteen people have recently died from cholera on the island.

The Department of Foreign Affairs says all cross-border travel under the free movement provisions of the Torres Strait Treaty has been restricted until further notice.

It also warns that a growing number of areas are being affected by the cholera outbreak in PNG."
