US : Officials continue to comb El Monte, South El Monte for disease-carrying mosquitoes

Via Whittier Daily News, excerpt :

" Pest control officials will again this week be combing neighborhoods in search of invasive and potentially dangerous Asian tiger mosquitoes.

Officials with the Greater Los Angeles County Vector Control and the San Gabriel Valley Mosquito and Vector Control districts will be going door-to-door beginning Tuesday morning to inform residents about the mosquitoes, place traps, search for mosquito eggs and eliminate places where the mosquitoes can breed.

The mosquitoes were discovered in a trailer park in El Monte last month. Officials acted quickly to eliminate them there, but it was soon discovered that they were more widely spread than originally thought."
