" A 38-year-old woman from Satara has succumbed to swine flu in a hospital here, taking the city's H1N1 death toll to 39 so far this year. The contagion claimed nine victims in August.
Alka Kharat, a resident of Mangalwar Peth in Satara, had developed influenza-like symptoms on August 26. She had fever with cough and had breathlessness from August 28. Kharat consulted a neighbourhood doctor on August 27, who administered her symptomatic treatment. However, her condition did not improve and she was admitted to a hospital in Satara on August 29, where she was put on ventilator support. Kharat was shifted to Ruby Hall Clinic on August 30."
