Norovirus outbreak hits Australia's Queensland

" An outbreak of highly contagious norovirus has spread in Australia's southeast Queensland with 130 confirmed cases, local media reported on Wednesday.

Queensland Health is trying to contain the outbreak, which has already hit 130 people in Ipswich and on the Sunshine Coast.

The West Moreton Hospital and Health Service has identified 105 patients and staff who contracted the illnesses around Ipswich and Boonah, in the state's southeast, according to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).

The largest outbreak is at an Ipswich nursing home, where 55 patients and 14 staff have been affected.
More than 20 patients and staff at the Ipswich Hospital were hit by the bug, while one patient and 13 staff at the Boonah Health Service fell ill.

On the Sunshine Coast, 25 patients have been quarantined in three wards at two hospitals."
