" Brunei's Ministry of Health will continue to be vigilant and monitor the influenza disease although the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the end of phase six of Influenza A H1N1 pandemic and currently is in the post-pandemic period.
The Ministry of Health in a statement released yesterday said following the recent WHO announcement, it has taken appropriate steps needed to enter the post pandemic period in line with WHO directives and continue with caution through the Surveillance Influenza Like Illnesses and continue to operate its flu clinic services as well as temperatures checks in hospital and health centres nationwide.
The Ministry of Health will also continue its control and prevention measures to reduce the impact of influenza including providing vaccine injection and management of critical patients. The vaccine injection program will continue whereby members of the public especially those with high risk to the disease are encouraged to take the vaccine in designated centres."
