India : 30 Gurukul girls down with fever

Via Deccan Chronicle :

" Aug. 12: At least 30 girls were down with viral fever in the social welfare Gurukul hostel at Nagulapalem village of Parchur mandal in Prakasam district. The Prakasam district medical and health officer, Dr D. Prasad Rao, inspected the hostel and set up a medical camp to treat the students. Health officials have blamed the poor drainage conditions at the gurukul as the cause for febrile attack.

At least 30 people were suffering from diarrhoea in Chandrapuram under Aswapuram mandal of Khammam district on Thursday. According to sources, the condition of all the patients, admitted to Bhadrachalam Government Hospital, is stable. It has been alleged that in Guntur, doctors treated patients for dengue though they were diagnosed for ordinary fever. At least three hospitals have been sealed for engaging unqualified staff in diagnostic centres attached to hospitals. "
