Malaysia : Kindergarten hit by HFM disease

Via New Straits Times :

" GEORGE TOWN: An elite kindergarten in Penang has been ordered to suspend classes for two weeks after symptoms of hand, foot and mouth (HFM) disease were detected among its pupils.

It is not immediately known how many pupils were affected recently.

State Health Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh said those who had symptoms were reported to be in stable condition and there was no cause for concern.

"The situation is under control. We have only received one such report in the state to date," he said yesterday.

Phee said the state Health Department would inspect the kindergarten soon to see if it could resume classes."
