" JAIPUR: The first swine flu death of this year's monsoon was reported in Kota on Saturday. Following it, the medical and health department sounded an alert in the Jhalawar district from where the woman hailed.
Officials of the department have started screening people with swine flu symptoms in the district. So far, 1,000 houses have been surveyed.
"The number of swine flu deaths have gone up to 11 since April. So far, 18 people have tested positive for the disease over the past three months," an official said.
The 28-year-old woman, a resident of Khanpur village in Jhalawar district, died of swine flu in Kota while undergoing medical treatment.
The woman was suffering from swine flu symptoms of cough and cold for the past 15 days but failed to get timely treatment. The victim, Seema Pareta, was rushed to the Sudha hospital in Kota on June 25 after her condition started deteriorating."
