" The Macedonian Health Ministry on Tuesday declared an epidemic of measles, with 678 cases of the infectious disease reported in the Balkan country.
Health Minister Bujar Osmani urged citizens who have not yet been vaccinated for measles to do so immediately, and stressed the importance of vaccinations for the most vulnerable group of children — those under the age of five.
Nonetheless, Osmani said there was no need for alarm. "Fear or panic should not be created … Daily movement of citizens will continue without limitations," said Osmani, adding that Macedonia has a extremely high rate of vaccination of "almost 100 percent."

Macedonia Alarmed Over Swine Flu Deaths

" Following a record number of deaths from swine flu, the health authorities have announced an investigation into the treatment of affected patients.
Six patients, including one pregnant woman, have died in the last five days from the flu, adding to the 15 deaths so far this season. The latest data from the health ministry indicates that some 25.000 people have been infected so far and the ministry expects this number to climb."

Macedonia reports four new swine flu deaths

" The health authorities in Macedonia on Tuesday reported that in the last two days four people died of swine flu including a pregnant woman, bringing the toll for this year to six.
The health ministry issued a press release which warned that the number of people hospitalised with the H1N1 virus that causes swine flu was rising.
"In the last 48 hours three people died in the hospital including a pregnant woman, another victim was pronounced dead on arrival at the clinic," the statement said."

Swine, seasonal flu claim two lives in Macedonia

" A man (32) from Kocani and a 60-year old women from Skopje passed away overnight of swine and seasonal flu respectively at the Clinic of Infectious Diseases in Macedonia's capital.
Hence the flu death toll has reached five, with only one swine flu victim, the Ministry of Health said Thursday in a press release.
The Public Health Institute informed about three new patients with swine flu symptoms, so seven A(H1N1) cases have been registered in the country thus far."
