" THE National Immunisation Days against polio and the H1N1 flu are starting countrywide today and parents are urged to take all children under five years old to vaccination points.
During this year's campaign, children will be vaccinated against polio and flu and will receive Vitamin A supplements.
Some categories of adults, such as pregnant women and people with chronic illnesses such as TB and HIV-AIDS, will also receive the flu vaccine.
The Oshana Director of Health and Social Services, Dr Naftali Hamata, said at Oshakati yesterday that everything was set for the vaccination campaign in Oshana.
Dr Hamata said they had 107 teams at 464 points, of which 446 are mobile and 18 fixed points.
The campaign will take place over two rounds.
Round one, from today to Thursday, will include polio drops for all children under five years, Vitamin A supplementation for children between six months and five years, and H1N1flu injections for children between six and 11 months and pregnant women.
The second round will include polio drops for all children under five years and H1N1 injections for children between the ages of six and 11 months.
Health workers, NDF personnel and immigration officers will also be vaccinated against H1N1."
