As always Ida at Bird Flu Information corner is on top of the case when it comes bird flu in Indonesia. Excerpt from today's report :
" Bengkulu : Another bird flu suspect patient is admitted to M Yunus regional hospital in Bengkulu, Tuesday (10/8). Patient was referred from Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah, said the official of M Yunus hospital, Syafriadi.
Patient with initial Vi (27) showed bird flu like symptoms such as breathing difficulty, fever, weakness and sore throat. Patient had contact with dead birds before.
Blood and throat samples have been sent to Jakarta for confirmation.
In meantime, Pu (17), another bird flu suspect patient who is being treated in M Yunus hospital since Friday (6/8), has been tested negative bird flu H5N1 negative. “Patient had common pneumonia,” said Syafriadi."
It's alarming to hear news like these. Viruses mutate every second making them hard to die.
