" Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Dr Jide Idris, has said an estimated 3,000 children under the age of five die from malaria.
According to him, malaria remains a major public health problem in the country and Lagos State is inclusive due its cosmopolitan nature and population.
Idris, who spoke to journalists at the Scale-up Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) Exercise in Lagos State, said the disease was responsible for about 30 per cent of childhood deaths and accounts for more than one in 10 deaths of expectant mothers."
