" BANGKOK, 22 August 2010 : Public Health Minister Jurin Laksanawisit has asked all related agencies to keep a close watch on the situation of dengue fever, as the number of the patients has risen. Public Health Minister Jurin Laksanawisit yesterday said that the spread of dengue fever remained a concern in Thailand.
From January to August 2010, the number of patients nationwide is 80% higher than that of the same period of last year. Mr Jurin has instructed all provincial Public Health officers to keep an eye on the situation, and to regularly sterilize the bodies of stagnant water, which are the breeding grounds for mosquitoes, in order to control the spread of disease and to prevent the rising number of patients."
