India : Malkangiri stung by fresh dengue outbreak

Another article from Express Buzz with regards to dengue :

" BHUBANESWAR: Even as Rayagada grapples with cholera menace, Malkangiri is now battling against dengue with 11 fresh cases reported from the southern district.

The Malkangiri district medical office sent in 59 samples for test to Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) here. Fourteen of those tested positive.

While most appear to be cases of indigenous transmission, the district administration is still investigating how the haemorrhagic fever spread to its bordering areas.

In fact, three cases were already tested at MKCG Medical earlier and had been sent to RMRC for confirmation.

So far dengue has claimed three lives in the State and 20 cases had been reported earlier.

While Rayagada has been reeling under the outbreak of cholera, Malkangiri has reported maximum number of dengue cases.

Earlier, it had thrown up eight cases and with the fresh cases now, the number has risen to 19 in the district. Besides Malkangiri, another tribal district, Gajapati, has also reported cases of dengue."
