Indonesia : Agam, West Sumatera - A child suspected of contracting bird flu

" Agam – A child with initial L is being treated in M Djamil hospital, Padang as bird flu suspect. Patient started to develop fever after several chickens were found to have suddenly died on patient’s yard. The dead chickens were tested positive bird flu H5N1.

Because the fever was continuing, patient was then brought to Lubukbasung regional hospital. Patient was observed of having fever, cough and breathing difficulty. Further examination and chest x-ray of the patient suspected bird flu infection, and later patient was referred to a bird flu referral hospital, M Djamil hospital."
