GLOBAL -
WHO reports that there have been 31 cases of H5N1 flu in humans so far this year, 13 of whom have died. Most of the victims have been in Egypt (19 cases) but there have also been seven cases in Viet Nam, three in Indonesia and one each in Cambodia and China. These bring the total number of cases since 2003 to 499 cases, of whom 295 have died.
