India : 8 more dengue cases in capital

" NEW DELHI: Delhi reported eight new cases of dengue on Monday, taking the total number of people affected by the mosquito-borne disease in the city to 121 so far, an official said.“Eight more people have tested positive for dengue in Delhi on Monday but no deaths were reported,” Municipal Corporation of Delhi’s chief medical officer NK Yadav said.

Commenting on the rise in dengue cases, VK Monga, chairman, health committee, MCD, said:

“There is an alarming increase in dengue cases this year, as the majority of breeding was found in Commonwealth Games construction sites. About 121 cases of dengue have been recorded till Monday compared to just ten cases last year.”
