India : Dengue cases shoot up in Delhi

" Delhi is under the grip of dengue but the municipal authorities are busy fudging figures to save face. Headlines Today has found that the number of dengue patients in the city is at least four times that recorded by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

For the records, Delhi has reported only 322 positive cases of dengue. But a check of five hospitals in the city has revealed nearly 1,400 cases.

Holy Family Hospital alone has had 599 confirmed cases of dengue in just a month. The Max hospitals in Saket and Patparganj together have recorded 224 cases in a little over a month.

Moolchand Hospital saw 450 confirmed cases in July and August while RML Hospital recorded 80 cases this month. At LNJP Hospital, records show 45 cases in August alone.

The number of cases is rising daily. On Thursday, 25 people tested positive for dengue."
