India : H1N1 virus claims three lives in Aurangabad

" AURANGABAD: Three more people succumbed to the influenza A H1N1 virus in Aurangabad between August 15 and 17, taking the death toll at the government medical college and hospital (GMCH) here to 11 since April 2010. GMCH superintendent P L Gattani said that from August 15 to 17, five people died in the quarantine ward, where they were admitted following swine-flu symptoms.

The report received from the National Institute of Virology, Pune, said that only three of them had tested positive for swine flu. "The remaining two died due to other reasons," he added.

The three victims have been identified as Jyoti Dnyandeo Waghode (30), of Jambuldhaba in Buldhana district. Her death due to the H1N1 virus was confirmed on Wednesday. The other victims are Radhabai Shriram Lokhande (40), of Bajajnagar, Aurangabad, and Indu Dhanraj Jogdand (22), of Patoda in Beed district."
