India : 18 fresh dengue cases reported in Patna

" PATNA: Eighteen new confirmed cases of dengue were reported in Patna on Wednesday of which five were reported from Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) bringing the total number of confirmed dungue cases in the state to 69. This includes 24 positive cases reported on Tuesday, while another 19 reported on Monday.

Two persons have so far died (official figure) and as many as 275 have been affected by dengue across the state. The districts severely affected are Munger and Begusarai. Some cases have also been reported from Patna, Bhagalpur, Lakhisarai, West Champaran, Khagaria, Muzaffarpur and Nalanda districts.

A high-level meeting was convened on Wednesday by principal secretary (health) C K Mishra to review the impact of the steps taken by the state government so far to tackle dengue."
