Follow-up on dengue fever investigation

The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health announced today (September 30) that tests on blood samples obtained from the 2-year-old girl suspected to have locally acquired dengue fever showed negative results.

Cluster of Influenza A cases in a female psychiatric ward at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital

Four patients (aged from 20 to 60) and two staff members of a female psychiatric ward of PYNEH have presented with symptoms of influenza like illness since September 26. The patients are being treated under isolation with stable condition. Appropriate viral tests had been arranged for the patients and their test results were positive to Influenza A. One of the concerned staff members has resumed duty and the other is currently on sick leave.

ILI and HFMD situation update

The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health received a report of influenza-like illness (ILI) outbreak in 1 school affecting 6 persons during the 24 hours ending at noon today (September 30).
