" Damaturu : DEPUTY Governor of Yobe State Engineer Abubakar Aliyu yesterday said 2,273 cases of cholera have been recorded while 132 people died in two separate outbreaks in various parts of the state between July and this month.
Aliyu, who oversees the Ministry of Health, addressed journalists yesterday in Yobe, saying 79 persons were on admission in various hospitals in the state. He said in the first outbreak, the state government spent over N10 million on the purchase of drugs, adding that Governor Ibrahim Gaidam had approved the release of funds for the purchase of more drugs."
