" The Townsville City Council (TCC) says two residents have returned home in the past week after contracting dengue fever in Bali.
The TCC will closely monitor the impact of the two imported cases after detecting 30 locally-transmitted infections last month.
Councillor Dale Last says residents need to constantly check to make sure their properties are not breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
"Back into the new year and as people come back from holidays, we really need to keep a close eye on that because we're getting, as you know, wet weather basically every day so it makes it even more important for people to be conducting those checks on a weekly basis," he said."
