" Three people have succumbed to the influenza A H1N1 virus since Friday, taking the death toll in the city to 230.
Dilip Narayan Hanamgar (48), a resident of Sun City road, Anandnagar, died at Sassoon general hospital on March 7; Kavita Nikam (19), a resident of village Rathod in Nashik district, died at the Deenanath Mangeshkar hospital (DMH) on May 8 and Jayashree Bharat Tipule (22), a resident of Ashti village in Beed disrict, died at Poona Hospital on May 8, said Uddhav Gavande, deputy director of the state health services.
"All three had tested positive for the H1N1 virus," he added.
Hanamgar had developed symptoms like fever and cough on April 20. He visited Naidu hospital, which in turn referred him to Sassoon Hospital on April 28.
His condition deteriorated thereon. Nikam, who was six months' pregnant, had developed symptoms of the swine flu since April 6.
She was referred to the DMH by the Civil Hospital in Nashik on April 12 and delivered a premature baby. The baby's condition is normal, said Gavande.
Tipule had developed symptoms of the disease from May 1. She initially took treatment from a general practitioner in her area and also consulted a hospital in Ahmednagar. She was referred to Poona Hospital on May 7. "
