India : Three die of H1N1 flu; toll reaches 226

The death toll rises in Pune - India, via The Times of India:

" Three people have fallen victim to H1N1 flu since April 29, taking the toll in the city to 226. According to Uddhav Gavande, deputy director of state health services, Kisan Galande (45), a resident of Sainikwadi in Wadgaonsheri, died at the isolation ICU of Sassoon hospital at 10.20 pm on April 29.

Another victim, Sandhya Kumbhak (45), a resident of Manchar in Ambegaon taluka, breathed her last at KEM hospital at 4.20 am on April 30. Meanwhile, Mumtaj Shaikh (40), a resident of Wakad, died at Sassoon hospital at 10.10 pm on April 30. “All three were H1N1 positive and had no associated illness,” Gavande stated.

Galande developed swine flu symptoms on April 23. He initially was treated by medical practitioners in his area. “Galande was admitted to Sassoon hospital in a critical condition on April 29 and died within an hour,” Gavande added."
