Malaysia : Current Situation of Influenza A (H1N1) as of 9 May 2010

Another disappointing H1N1 update from the Ministry of Health and this is the second day in a row, an update like this is has been published. Again the number of ICU cases are not mentioned and the fatalities (if any, which I hope none) are listed. Either someone is too pre-occupied to prepare a detailed report like how they used to or the Ministry don't want to alarm the public with the rising of H1N1 cases by revealing the actual numbers.

Anyway the "short" report with my translation. Even the appendix 1 doesn't match the information listed :

" Until 8:00 am on May 9, 2010, the Ministry received a total of nine (9) reports of ILI cluster cases in the following seven (7) states as listed in Appendix 1.

Meanwhile, until 5:30 pm on May 8, 2010, a total of 41 confirmed positive cases of influenza A (H1N1) were reported for a cumulative number of 14,033 cases to date. The remaining ILI cases that are being treated in the wards in the country are 655 cases. Of these, 95 cases (14.5%) were confirmed positive influenza A (H1N1)."
