Malaysia : People in high-risk category advised to be innoculated

Via New Straits Times:

" More than 175,747 people have been vaccinated against Influenza A (H1N1) in Malaysia.

The breakdown: 76,613 health ministry's frontliners, 49,407 frontline staff of other government agencies such as police and immigration officers and 49,727 members of the public.

Director-General of Health Tan Sri Dr Ismail Merican called on people in the high-risk category to get vaccinated at the ministry's 104 health facilities.

He said they should heed this advice seriously as many of those who died due to complications from H1N1 were people with diabetes, hypertension, asthma, heart and lung diseases and kidney failure as well as the obese.

"Although the number of people getting vaccinated has increased over the past one month, we want many more to come forward, more so with the government giving the vaccine free of charge," he added."
