Malaysia's Minisry of Health latest H1N1 update as of 2nd May 2010:
" Until 8:00 am on May 2, 2010, the Ministry did not receive any new ILI cluster case reports.
Meanwhile, until at 5:30 pm on May 1, 2010, a total of 35 confirmed cases of influenza A (H1N1) was reported for a cumulative of 13,744 cases to date. The remaining number of ILI cases that are being treated in the wards in the country are 592 cases. Of these, 76 cases (12.8%) were confirmed positive influenza A (H1N1). The number of patients being treated in the ICU is seven (7) case in which five (5) of them has risk factors. The Ministry did not receive any fatality reports and the cumulative number of fatalities remains at 81.
The Ministry would like to draw the attention of the public that the majority of deaths associated with H1N1 virus infection include those who have risk factors such as asthma, diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, pregnant women and obese (Morbid obesity)."
