Thailand : Influenza claims another life

From the Bangkok Post, a more detailed report on the H1N1 situation there in Thailand:

" Another person has died from type-A (H1N1) influenza, bringing the total number of deaths in a second wave of the virus's spread to 32.

Public Health Minister Jurin Laksanavisit yesterday said there had been 7,975 confirmed cases of H1N1 and 32 deaths in the second wave of the flu from Jan 1 to April 30.

There was one new case of H1N1 in the past week and one person had died of the virus.

In the first wave of the flu, from April 28 last year to Dec 31, there were 28,952 confirmed cases of HIN1 and 193 related deaths.

There have been 225 type-A (H1N1) flu fatalities and 36,927 infections in Thailand, Mr Jurin said.

There were 44,887 doses of type-A (H1N1) flu vaccine administered to people in high-risk groups under the ministry's free vaccination campaign in the past week.

There have been no new reports of people developing side effects."
