Malaysia : Concerted effort to fight dengue

Via The Star :

" The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) is urging all levels of the community to work with the council to address the dengue problem and cooperate when dengue prevention activities are carried out.

Among others, the community’s cooperation is needed to leave their doors open during checks by health officers at their respective premises.

The council also requested that residents leave their doors and windows open when fogging activities are carried out.

This is to make it easier for dengue control measures to be carried out to ensure Aedes mosquito breeding grounds in and around premises are completely eradicated and control the spread of the disease.

According to the MBSA, 328 dengue cases were reported from early Jan 2010 till the first week of Feb 2010 in areas under the council’s jurisdiction."
