" KARWAR: The death toll due to diarrheoa in the last three months has risen to four in Haliyal taluk. The death of Yallavva Parashuram Manalakar of Satnalli village in the taluk on Friday has raised concerns among the health officials.
Tahsildar Aziz Desai and senior health officials visited the village to take stock of the situation. Desai said contaminated drinking water is causing diarrhoea. They have appealed to the people to drink only hot water to keep the disease at bay.
The patients are being treated at a community hall in the village while those with severe illness have been shifted to Alnavar and Dharwad. Sources said the epidemic is rampant in and around Satnalli village."
