" LUDHIANA: Much against the health department's claims that the outbreak of dengue is under control, the count of cases has crossed the 2,000 mark. Instead of taking notice and doing something about it, the health department is sticking to its official count of 448 patients, including 226 from the city.
The rising number of cases has also sparked a debate among doctors and residents on the testing kits being used to identify dengue and their reliability.
Giving a count of the number of patients, medical superintendent of Dayanand Medical College and Hospital said 1,090 patients have been admitted till date. Christian Medical College and Hospital authorities said they have 280 dengue patients."
