Via New Zealand Herald :
" Another case of meningococcal disease has been confirmed at Rotorua Hospital.
Medical officer of health for Bay of Plenty and Lakes Dr Phil Shoemack said an adult from the Taupo district was admitted to Rotorua Hospital midway through August.
The adult has since recovered and has been discharged.
The number of confirmed cases of the disease in the Lakes District Health Board area, which includes Rotorua and Taupo, since the beginning of the year stands at four with two more "probable'' cases.
The cases were three adults and three children, one of whom died in Rotorua Hospital from the disease at the start of August.
Dr Shoemack did not want to confirm the gender of the adult or the person's age in the most recent case as he did not want to "inappropriately concern or inappropriately reassure'' people."
