" Regarding a female mentally handicapped ward at Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH) in which some patients have been confirmed as having Noroviral infection, the hospital's spokesperson announced the following update today (January 3):
Nine more patients (aged from 27 to 54) in the ward have presented with diarrhoea or vomiting symptoms. Appropriate viral tests were arranged for the patients and the test results for eight patients were positive, while the other patient tested negative for Norovirus. All patients are being treated under isolation and are in stable condition.
Admission to the ward has been suspended. Restricted visiting and discharge from the ward has been imposed. Infection control measures for the ward concerned have already been stepped up. All other patients in the ward are being closely monitored."
