From The Star, an informative article and a reminder on hygiene importance:
" FLU is normally spread through the air via droplets expelled from the mouth when an infected person talks, sneezes, or coughs. An uninfected person can easily come into contact with these droplets, which often land on hands and commonly touched areas, and then become infected.
Good hygiene practices can help prevent flu spreading. Public health officials and infectious disease experts advocate regular and thorough hand-washing as the best first line of defence. If suitable anti-bacterial soap is not available, such as when away from home, hand sanitisers are a viable option.
Dr Steven Chow, president, Federation of Private Medical Practitioners Association of Malaysia (FPMPAM), said “Practising good hygiene every day, every time, is everyone’s responsibility, and something everyone can do for themselves."
