Vietnam reports 11th swine flu death

" A 58-year-old man in the Mekong Delta Province of Hau Giang has become the 11th person to die from influenza A/H1N1, better known as swine flu, in Vietnam this year.

Ly Van Thanh, who hailed from Long My
District, had a treatment a hospital in northern Vietnam headache, cough, and high fever on June 18, said Dr. Tran Phong Nha, director of Long My Preventive Health Center.

He had received treatment at a private clinic for about one week before being transferred to Long My District General

Thanh was later transferred to Military Health Hospital 121 in the Mekong Delta City of Can Tho, where he died

After that the Pasteur Institute Ho Chi Minh City, which conducted postmortem tests, confirmed that he had been infected with the A/H1N1 strain of swine flu.

Six of Thanh’s family members been isolated and are being tested for swine flu, while local health authorities have sterilized the environment around his house, online newspaper VnExpress reported."
