" JAKARTA, Feb. 18 : An Indonesian government senior official said on Friday that Indonesia has the largest number of dengue patients among the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Rita Kusriastuti, Director of Animal-infected Disease Control at the Indonesian Health Ministry said the ministry recorded around 150,000 dengue patients as of 2010.
"The number was not reducing compared to figures in previous years," Rita told a press conference in the ministry's premises here.
According to Rita, the spreading of dengue in Indonesia was favored by weather condition. Indonesia was overwhelmed by rainy season in the last few years, favorable to the breeding of mosquito larva during the season."
