" CHARLOTTE : The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services reports two more people died this past week as a result of the flu, bringing the total this year to 18, including seven children.
According to a report recently released from the Centers for Disease Control, 19 states, including North Carolina, saw a surge in patients with flu-like illnesses at the beginning of the month.
"It's been about half influenza A, half influenza B. Some of the influenza A has been the H1N1 that we saw last year. That's been continuing a little bit into this flu season," said Dr. Charles Bregier Jr. with Presbyterian Urgent Care."
