" Hepatitis A is a relatively uncommon viral disease in New Zealand; however, as of Friday, Mar 2, there is a reported outbreak of hepatitis A in which at least 19 cases have been confirmed. Some of the cases involve school age children.
The Auckland Regional Public Health Service (ARPHS) has been working closely with the schools providing public health advice for staff and parents.
Dr. Shanika Perera of the ARPHS said that the source of the outbreak is currently unknown."
