South Korea : S Korea to offer free A/H1N1 vaccination shots to South Africa World Cup tourists

Via People's Daily Online :

" South Korea will offer free Influenza A vaccination shots to tourists traveling to South Africa for the 2010 FIFA World Cup set to begin next month, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said Thursday.

People planning to visit South Africa may receive free shots by stopping by state-run clinics in local areas, as it will prevent them from contracting the A/H1N1 flu virus, the disease control agency said.

The KCDC added tourists to South Africa should avoid insect bites and not contact with animals, adding that they should pay extra care to what they eat and drink as well in the region.

Thousands of deaths have been reported from the A/H1N1 virus worldwide since April 2009, and more than 240 deaths have been confirmed due to the flu, it said.

The KCDC expects to see large numbers of South Korean tourists flying to South Africa to attend the World premier soccer event, which is scheduled to kick off on June 11."
