" A 50-year-old woman succumbed to swine flu on Monday in a private hospital, taking the swine flu death toll since June to 12. This is the fourth death in the city in July. The victim, who was a Goregaon resident, was suffering from diabetes. Rain-related illnesses also claimed two lives in the city on Wednesday. A ar-old man from Dahisar succumbed to malaria on July 13. He was an alcoholic. A 37-year-old man from Dadar, who was diabetic, died of leptospirosis on July 12.
“The swine flu patient had been admitted to the hospital on June 9 and was put on Tamiflu from the next day after she was tested positive,” said Dr G.T. Ambe, executive health officer of the BMC.
Twenty-two others, including 10 children and one pregnant woman, tested positive for swine flu on Wednesday."
