" KOLKATA: West Bengal's health department detected three positive cases of swine flu on Thursday taking the toll to 12 so far this month, according to the State's health department officials.
State's Water Resources Investigation and Development Minister Nandagopal Bhattacharya is among those affected by the AH1NI virus.
According to officials of the State's health department, the condition of a 25-year-old man, who is admitted in a private nursing home with chronic renal failure as well as swine flu, is critical.
The other two who were detected to be suffering from swine flu during the day are a one-year-old and a 12-year-old.
Mr. Bhattacharya was admitted to a private hospital few days ago with convulsion and respiratory problems. A second round of test of his throat swab resulted positive late on Wednesday.
He is being kept in the ICU as his condition is critical, according to hospital sources.
The health department officials said only five of the 12 detected patients are currently undergoing treatment in hospitals."
