" A spokesperson for Kwai Chung Hospital made the following announcement today (January 19):
A total of 12 patients (aged 23 to 59) and a staff member of a male ward have presented with symptoms of fever and flu since January 13. Viral test results of 10 patients are positive to Influenza A. One of the patients has been transferred to Princess Margaret Hospital for treatment under isolation. The hospital will continue to provide treatment to the remaining 11 patients and closely monitor their condition. All 12 patients are in stable condition. The staff member concerned is on sick leave.
Admission and visiting to the concerned ward are suspended for the time being. Infection control measures at the ward have already been stepped up. All other patients in the ward are under close surveillance. "
